Commonly Asked Questions About the Tams11 Lobby
- Why isn't this site a free site like the other gaming sites?
- The other sites are funded by big companies. Since Tams11 Software is currently created, owned, operated, and maintained by Tams11, and since advertisements just don't bring in money, it relies on the player's support.

- Why do you I have to download and install everything and I didn't have to on other gaming sites?
- Other Gaming sites are programmed to be web based, usually using Java. You actually do have to download the games, it's just done automatically and everytime you log in. The Tams11 Games are set up to be stand alone executable files. Therefore you must download them but after you download them they are on your system and only need to download again if the game is actually upgraded thus saving you time! And since not everyone will want to play every game, I make each game a separate download so you will not have unwanted games on your system.

- Why do I get Error Code 5 Access Denied when trying to install a program?
- This error occurs when you are trying to install the program when the program is open. Shut down the Tams11 program and try the install again.

- Ok I installed the game, now what?
- If you only downloaded a game, then you must download the Tams11 Lobby from Here. Once the lobby is installed, make sure all Tams11 Games are closed. Open up the lobby and create an account. After you have logged in, you can host or join games.

- Can I change my name?
- The Tams11 Lobby does not support name changes.

- Why can't people join my games?
- If you are hosting a game and people try to log in but do not get connected, the cause is most likely because you are on a network, have a fire wall, or use a modem that acts similar to a router. Click Here to find out more.

- Why can't I join games
- Usually it's because the host is unable to host. But sometimes problems could arise with *your* fire wall. Make sure your firewall allows the Tams11 Game or port 7772 to connect to the internet.

- How can I change my icon?
- Different icons are given to different memberships. All non paying members will have a head (either with a wig or bald). Once you become a paying member, you can choose from a number of different hats to wear by selecting Options in the main menu, then selecting "Settings", and clicking the Edit Profile button. There you will be able to choose a hat from a drop down menu.

- Why does the game end when the host leaves?
- The Tams11 Lobby Games are set up to allow many games with low server costs. The host is actually hosting the game. When the host leaves then the game ends. I am exploring ways to change this, but any changes to this will not happen for quite some time. The plus side to this feature is that when the Tams11 Lobby server goes down, you can continue to play in your current game.

- Why do I have lag in a game?
- There are many reasons for lag. The main cause of lag occurs when the connection between the host and the player is bad. This can either be because the host computer has a bad connection OR because the player has a bad connection. You may help eliminate lag by making sure all other programs that use the internet are closed such as ICQ, AIM, Internet Explorer, etc. If You are consistently experiencing lag with different hosts then it's probably because your Internet Connection.

- After I open a game, I never see the "You are connected" message and I can't start a game.
- This is most likely caused by your firewall blocking the connection. Even if you think you turned off your firewall, your part of your firewall that actually protects you is probably still running in the background. If you have not allowed the game to access the internet then you need to do that, even if you think your firewall is turned off.
